A Homecoming of Champions
There’s a certain rhythm to golf in Plettenberg Bay — the whisper of the breeze through the pines, the echo of a well-struck iron, and the unmistakable hum of anticipation when greatness returns.
That moment has arrived once more. Plettenberg Bay Country Club has been awarded the 2025 South African Senior Golf Open, to be played from 10–12 December 2025 — marking the fifth time this prestigious championship will unfold on our fairways.
Adding to the sense of occasion, James Kingston, now a proud member of Plettenberg Bay Country Club, will also serve as the host for the 2025 championship. His familiarity with the course and affection for the region promise to make this a truly special homecoming — for player, club, and community alike.
From the rolling fairways framed by indigenous forest to the unmistakable Garden Route hospitality, Plettenberg Bay offers a setting worthy of champions. The return of the Senior Open isn’t just another tournament; it’s a celebration of South African golf, of enduring friendships, and of a course that continues to inspire those who play it.
As December approaches, excitement is already building among members and visitors. The club invites everyone to join us from 10–12 December to witness this showcase of experience, skill, and sportsmanship. Whether you’re a lifelong golfer or simply love the atmosphere of great sport in a beautiful place, this is an event not to be missed.
